Mekora is not an emergency service
Optional identity verification
Members can choose to complete identity verification. It is voluntary, and completing it adds a verified indicator to a profile. Verification helps confirm that a person matches the photos on their profile — it does not confirm that someone is honest, trustworthy or safe. Always stay alert, whether or not a profile is verified.
Verified profile indicators
A verified badge means that member completed our verification step. Treat it as one signal among many, not a guarantee or an endorsement.
Blocking and reporting
- Block anyone at any time — blocking is immediate and does not notify the other person.
- Report profiles, messages, photos or behaviour that breaks our guidelines.
- Reports are reviewed by our team and can lead to warnings, restrictions or removal.
Privacy controls
- Choose what appears on your profile and what stays private.
- Control who can discover and message you.
- Pause or hide your profile whenever you need a break.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Secure handling of personal information
Personal information is transmitted over encrypted connections and access is limited to what is needed to operate and protect the service. Verification material is handled with additional care. Details of what we collect and how long we keep it are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Community safety standards
Everyone on Mekora agrees to our Community Guidelines: honest profiles, respectful behaviour, consent and boundaries, and no harassment, hate, scams, impersonation or exploitation. Mekora is strictly for adults aged 18 and over.
Staying safe when you meet
- Keep conversations inside Mekora until you feel comfortable.
- Meet in a public place for the first few dates and arrange your own transport.
- Tell a friend where you're going and when you expect to be back.
- Never send money, gift cards or financial details to someone you met online.
- Trust your instincts — leaving early is always okay.
Support when something goes wrong
If something feels wrong, report it in the app and reach out through our support page. Safety concerns are prioritised. For urgent physical danger, contact local emergency services first.
